The Dollerbaechlein is a small river in France that runs in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region .

The Dollerbaechlein is artificially branched off from the Doller river in the municipal area of Reiningue (German: Reiningen ) , meanders through the potash basin in upper Alsace and, after 18 kilometers before Ensisheim, flows into the Ill as a left tributary .

From the Middle Ages to the present day it was of great economic importance both for supplying the mills and for irrigation . On its upstream section to Kingersheim, it is often called Hagelbach .

Nature reserve

In 2004, the CINE, Center d'Initiation à la Nature et à l'Environnement , together with the region and the Agence de Bassin, created a wetland ( reed bed ) along the Dollerbaechlein. It is used for ( flood protection ) and offers wild animals a refuge.
