The Dolmen de la Pierre Levée (German: Dolmen of the raised rock ) is a Neolithic megalithic complex in the commune of Saint-Fort-sur-le-Né in the Charente department in France . He is around 3500 BC. Dated a few hundred meters southeast of the village on a slight ridge in the middle of the vineyards.

Under the name Pierre Levée or Perre Levée there are probably around two dozen dolmens in France - e.g. B. in Brantôme , Bretignolles-sur-Mer , Échauffour , Janville-sur-Juine , La Chapelle-Vendômoise , La Roche-l'Abeille , Liniez , Moutiers-sous-Argenton , Poitiers and Yzeures-sur-Creuse .

The dolmen at Saint-Fort has an unusual height for the region, as the 7.20 m long, 4.70 m wide and up to 1.00 m thick cover plate at a clear height of about 2.20 m from three orthostats is supported by sandstone . The remaining originally six or seven bearing stones of the chamber were chopped off. The dolmen is a so-called " dolmen simple " or table dolmen. With a thickness of about one meter, its cover plate weighs about 40 tons. It is largely uncut, but the bearing stones are smoothed and cut into a rectangular shape so that they could be placed next to each other almost without any gaps. The remaining gaps between and above the orthostats were filled with intermediate masonry. The entire structure was probably originally covered by a burial mound made of earth, which has however completely disappeared. The dolmen was looted in the 19th century.

The dolmen has been on the list of historical monuments since 1983 .
