Domenico Battaglia (born January 20, 1963 in Satriano , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Cerreto Sannita-Telese-Sant'Agata de 'Goti .

Life

Domenico Battaglia completed his philosophical-theological studies at the San Pio X seminary in Catanzaro . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Catanzaro-Squillace on February 6, 1988 .

From 1989 to 1992 he was rector of the pre-seminary in Catanzaro and a member of the diocesan commission for justice and peace. He then worked in various positions in pastoral care and charitable functions. Among other things, he was President of the Italian Association of Therapeutic Communities from 2006 to 2015. He has been President of the Calabrian Solidarity Center since 1992. In 2008 he was appointed cathedral capitular at the Cathedral of Catanzaro.

On June 24, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Cerreto Sannita-Telese-Sant'Agata de 'Goti . The Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace, Vincenzo Bertolone SDP , donated him episcopal ordination on September 3 of the same year . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Michele De Rosa , the Archbishop of Campobasso-Boiano , Giancarlo Maria Bregantini CSS , and the Archbishops emeritus of Catanzaro-Squillace, Antonio Cantisani and Antonio Ciliberti . The inauguration in the diocese of Cerreto Sannita-Telese-Sant'Agata de 'Goti took place on October 2, 2016.
