Dominik Raab
Dominik Raab (* 1988 in Fulda ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).
Career
Raab studied jazz drums with Bill Elgart at the University of Music in Würzburg , completed a master's degree at the University of Music in Nuremberg and was a member of the State Youth Jazz Orchestra of Hesse. His teachers included Bastian Jütte , Hannes Nied and Paul Höchstädter , among others .
Raab led groups such as Gen What and played in the Markus Harm Quartet, the Julian Bossert Trio, the Sunday Night Orchestra , the Glenn Miller Orchestra (conducted by Wil Salden ) and the Subway Jazz Orchestra . He has lived and worked in Cologne since 2016 .
Prizes and awards
Raab received awards at the Jugend jazzt competition , the Sparda Jazz Award (2nd prize, 2016) and the Bruno Rother competition in 2013 and 2014.
