Dominik Tóth

Dominik Tóth (born August 3, 1925 in Kostolný Sek ; † May 16, 2015 in Nitra ) was a Slovak Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Trnava .

Life

Dominik Tóth received on 12 June 1949 in Bratislava the priesthood and was in the Apostolic Administration Trnava ordained. In 1949 he became a chaplain in Komárno . In 1952 he switched to the professorship in Trnava . In 1964 he became pastor in Plavecký Peter . From 1968 he worked as an administrator in Levice and from 1970 in Dunajská Lužná .

From 1973 to 1977 he was banned from practicing his profession by the communist regime and prevented from performing the priestly service. In 1977 he became chaplain in Vráble , from 1981 parish administrator in Dolný Pial . On May 13, 1989 he was appointed Vicar General of Trnava.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Trnava and titular bishop of Ubaba on March 17, 1990 . The Archbishop of Trnava, Ján Sokol , ordained him as a bishop on April 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ján Chryzostom Korec SJ , Bishop of Nitra , and František Tondra , Bishop of Spiš .

On April 2, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
