occupation

Don's Plum is an American film directed by RD Robb in 1995 and 1996.

The film was originally intended as a training film and should not be released. This is mainly reflected in the quality of the film and in the characters improvised by the actors. The main roles include Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire , who later sued against publication because they viewed Don's Plum as a training film. According to Polo Pictures Entertainment's complaint, Maguire was in the lead because his character did not develop as much presence as DiCaprio's. As a result of the lawsuit, the film could only be broadcast in Europe , not in the United States and Canada . The film was only released in 2001.

action

Four friends meet once a week at their local hangout, Don's Plum. The peculiarity of the meetings is that each of the friends must bring a young woman. The film describes one of these meetings, in which both the behavior in the group and the thinking of each of the eight is shown.

Everyone is acting cheeky and aloof, insulting, fumbling, arguing, joking. The genders come closer in all combinations in different ways, which is usually expressed in latent violence. It is a game of exclusion that everyone plays and no one seems to have mastered it like Derek, who also appears consistently unaccompanied. In the end, Ian and Jeremy fight, while Sara and Derek fight the battle of the sexes.
