Donat Golaz
Donat Golaz (born July 7, 1852 in Buttes , † July 14, 1900 in Orbe , entitled to residency in L'Abbaye ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).
biography
Golaz studied at the Lausanne Academy and worked from 1877 to 1885 and from 1893 to 1900 as a notary and from 1878 to 1885 as a civil registrar in Orbe.
From 1882 to 1885 and from 1893 to 1900 he was a deputy in the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud . In 1895 he was its president. In 1883 he was elected to the National Council , in which he was a seat until 1885. From 1885 to 1893 he was in the State Council of the canton of Vaud, head of the military department. From 1894 to 1900 he represented the canton of Vaud in the Council of States .
He promoted the expansion of the railway network in his region and was a member of the board of directors of the Orbe-Chavornay Railway and the Jura-Simplon Railway .
