The Rossini is a river cruise ship that was built in 1983 as the Danube Princess by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG). The ship is used for river cruises on the Danube .
Danube Princess
Until November 2006, the Danube Princess was a river cruise ship operated by the Peter Deilmann shipping company . Sailing under the German flag, around 200 passengers were driven from Passau to the sights of the Danube, with stops in particular in Dürnstein , Budapest , Bratislava and Vienna, before returning to Passau after a journey of one week.
The ship became popular in the 1990s through the ZDF series Donauprinzessin , which made river cruises famous.
Rossini
In November 2006 the Danube Princess was sold by Deilmann to the shipping company Favorit Reisen in Heilbronn and renamed Rossini . This "floating hotel" offers Danube cruises from Passau on the classic route to Budapest and back. In addition, 12-day cruises to the Iron Gate and back as well as 17-day cruises to the Danube Delta biosphere reserve and back are organized from Passau . Shore excursions are included in the tour price for all passages.
Cruises with the Rossini are accompanied by a German doctor who holds consultation hours on board by appointment. Since 2013, the ship has had a passenger elevator that connects the cabin decks with the restaurant and panorama bar deck. Further leisure options on board are a pool heated to 33 degrees on the sun deck, an on-board library on the restaurant deck and a room with fitness equipment.
The ship has had 7-speed rental bicycles since 2014. An additional bike-active package gives cruise guests the opportunity to take part in 5 organized and guided bike tours in Bratislava, Budapest, the Danube Bend, Vienna and the Wachau, on which routes between 18 and 28 km are covered. During these bike excursions, the ship remains in the respective port.
