location
The village street spans the historic village green in an elliptical shape in a north-south direction . There the church stands on a property that is not fenced in .
history
The religious building was built in 1832. In the years 1869/1870 the extended parish to build a west tower . Restoration work was carried out in 1912 and in 1960/1970. In 2008 the old steeple was restored, which gave the building back its historical appearance.
Building description
The structure was essentially built from bricks , which were then plastered . It stands on a circumferential base made of hewn field stones . The choir is strongly drawn in and has a five-eighth ending . At the end of the choir and the two adjacent fields there is a high arched window, followed by a surrounding cove at the transition to the eaves .
This is followed by the nave to the west . It has a rectangular plan. In contrast to the choir, the walls are profiled. The east wall is closed. A first circumferential frieze takes up the height of the window sills on the nave. Another frieze is attached at the level of the fighters . Above it is also a surrounding haunch. The gable is closed except for a small, square opening. The two sides of the nave are constructed identically. There are three large round arched windows with an accentuated fighter and arch stones. The west wall is also closed, as is the gable. The ship has a simple gable roof .
The west tower, added at a later date, is square and strongly indented opposite the nave. It can be entered from the west through a large arched portal. Above this is a circular, profiled opening on each of the three visible sides. The middle floor is optically separated from the rest of the building by a surrounding cornice . This cornice takes up the height of the nave's cove. In the middle floor there is initially a narrow, arched opening, above each two openings. The bell storey follows a further cornice. There is a large arched sound arcade on each side . On top of it is a simple pyramid roof on which a tower dome with a tower ball and cross sits.
Furnishing
The church furnishings are described in the Dehio manual as “simple” and come from the construction period. The polygonal pulpit stands on an octagonal base. It is held in dark, pastel tones, from which the parapet areas stand out in a lighter tone. A pair of brass candlesticks dates from 1729. The interior of the building has a flat roof, and the choir is separated by a round arch.
On the gallery is an organ that Johann Gottlob Teschner built in 1865. It was restored by the same company in 1912. In the tower hangs a bell that Sebastian Preger from Frankfurt (Oder) cast in 1598.
To the north of the building, a memorial commemorates those who fell in the world wars.
