Neese is a district of the municipality of Prislich in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in southwest Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Geography and traffic

The place is about half a kilometer south of Prislich and 3.5 kilometers southeast of the official seat of Grabow and is mainly surrounded by agricultural land. Only in the east is there a small deciduous forest area. The elevation of the location is 32-39 meters above sea level. The Berlin – Hamburg line , the closest train station to the city of Grabow, runs south of Neese.

Until the incorporation of both places in Prislich, Marienhof , formerly a widow's seat, later a dairy, belonged to Neese.

Neese village church

A church in Neese is mentioned as early as 1541. The half-timbered building that exists today, however, dates from 1750 to 1753. It was renovated in 1998/99. The bright hall with a three-sided east end has a flat wooden ceiling. The windows were redesigned in a neo-Gothic style. To the west, right next to the church, there is a metal, free-standing belfry with a bell. The interior of the church includes a Gothic winged altar taken from the previous building with scenes from the New Testament, which bears an inscription with the year 1681. The pulpit is a foundation from 1756. The baptismal stand with brass bowl also comes from this period. The organ is the work of the Rostock organ builder Carl Börger from 1895.

The church, the belfry and the memorial for the fallen 1914/18 are listed as historical monuments.

manor

The Neese estate has belonged to Kaspar Ernst von Wenkstern since 1684 and changed hands frequently from 1732. In the 1930s, Freiherr von Rodde was the last owner of the estate.

The manor complex with manor house, gate pillars, park and Schnitter barracks are on the district's list of historical monuments. The manor house stands empty today and is left to decay. The park is also completely overgrown.

Other monuments

Other listed objects in the village are the rectory, the cobblestone avenue of chestnuts, the churchyard with the grave cross of S. Moeller, the burial of the Bachmann family and the monument to the fallen in 1914/18 as well as a large stable in Neue Straße.
