Niederseefeld village church
The evangelical village church of Niederseefeld is a late Gothic stone church from the 15th century in Niederseefeld , a residential area in the district of Hohenseefeld in the municipality of Niederer Fläming in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg . The church belongs to the parish of Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .
location
The Niederseefelder Straße , coming from the north, leads south through the village. To the west of the street, the building stands on a plot of land with a church cemetery , which is fenced in .
history
The Dehio manual assumes that the church “probably” originated in the 15th century. The previously pointed arched openings were largely changed in 1882 and 1883.
Building description
The building was essentially made of unhewn and not layered field stones , masonry stones and mixed masonry. The choir is straight and has not moved in. In the center there is an arched window, the fascia of which was made from reddish brick and is therefore probably not from the construction period. In the gable is a small and high rectangular opening.
The nave has a rectangular floor plan. On the north and south sides there are three large arched windows, the facings of which were also made of brick. On the south side, between the eastern and central yoke, there is a double-stepped, pointed arch-shaped portal with a wooden gate.
The west tower takes up the full width of the ship. It can be entered from the west through a large, rectangular gate. While the lower area was built from mixed masonry, craftsmen only used brick in the gable. Above it rises a square tower made of timber . The compartment was again made with brick. On each side is a rectangular sound arcade ; above it a pyramid roof on which a small tower dome was erected. This closes with another pyramid roof, tower ball , weather vane and star.
Furnishing
The pulpit altar dates from 1883, but has an older frame. In the predella the Lord's Supper is depicted. Other church furnishings include a cup-shaped, late-Gothic fifth and a horseshoe gallery from 1883. The interior of the building is flat-roofed.
To the east of the choir, an obelisk commemorates those who fell from the First World War. An additional plate on his foot reminds of the fallen from the Second World War.
