history

The church is a single-nave branch church with a simple nave and a church tower with a square choir from the early Gothic period. In 1689 the tower was raised by two storeys made of half-timbering and the bell cage was set back a little. The window and choir are from the 17th century. Originally they were walled up with Romanesque round arches and early Gothic pointed arch windows in the lower area. During further construction work in 1689, the triumphal arch and the choir vault were removed. The height of the choir was leveled with that of the ship . The ship was rebuilt in 1838. Inside there are two-storey galleries on the north and south sides. The ceiling has an ornate stucco frame.

In 1927, a transverse wall in the choir was provided with the pulpit altar with basket and sound cover and a mural. The picture shows Christ as the savior of the village threatened by floods in the Saale.
