The village church of Riedebeck is a late Romanesque church made of field stone masonry, which shows the characteristic graduation of the components apse , choir, nave and tower. Stylistically, it is dated between 1220 and 1230. The surviving building dates 1192–1204 probably refer to a previous building. Scaffolding woods have been dendrochronologically dated to 1178 and 1179. A restoration took place between 1952 and 1962. The apse and the tower are made of granite blocks, molded parts were made of lawn iron stone. The windows in the choir and apse are from the late Romanesque period. Two portals on the south side show rounded arches with fighters ; the return portal in the west tower is obtuse-pointed arch with fighters made of lawn iron stone.

The bell storey of the tower probably dates from around 1300 and shows a richer Gothic structure with pointed arches, some of which are combined with coupled sound openings and niches. The openings in the gables under the transverse gable roof on the tower date from 1902.

The interior is finished with a renewed beamed ceiling and a semi-dome in the apse. On the north side of the apse there is a Gothic sacrament niche with a brick frame and a crab gable . The original fighters have been preserved on the slightly pointed apse and triumphal arches . The Gothic brick floor was restored in 1961.

By 1995 several wall paintings were destroyed by penetrating water and sponge damage occurred , which led to the building authorities closing the building. Therefore, a roof repair was necessary between 1995 and 1998, which was followed by renovation of windows and walls until 2010.

Furnishing

In the eastern parts there are still extensive remains of late Gothic wall paintings, which probably date from the late 15th century and were restored around 1960. They show tendril paintings and consecration crosses on the apse and in the choir arch . In the apse calotte are shown with a deesis . Ecclesia and synagogue and a carpet-like curtain with remains of an inscription are painted between the apse windows . On the south side of the choir there are still remains of fields with scenic representations and a tape. Saints are depicted on the north side of the east wall of the nave, presumably Christophorus and Georg on the south side .

In the apse there is an early Gothic altar hall made of lawn iron stone on which a late Gothic crucifix stands. In front of the triumphal arch is a late Gothic carved altar from around 1500, which was restored from 1998–2002. In the predella it shows Saint Catherine between two other saints. In the middle shrine Anna is depicted between Barbara and Margareta ; in the wings on the inside the Adoration of the Magi and three times two saints. The painted exterior of the wing shows the Annunciation ; The crucified Christ is depicted in a thin crack between Mary and John, above the risen Christ as the crowning glory.

A large Romanesque font with a squat bowl comes from Crinitz . In the southwest corner of the ship there is a baroque pastor's chair with a barred top. The other pieces of equipment were transferred to the village church Werben .

The organ is a work by Schuke from 1967 with seven stops on a manual and pedal .

At the entrance to the cemetery there is still a wide, slightly pointed arched portal from the late Gothic period.
