Building description

Jerusalem cross at the walled-up south gate

The structure is a complete system , which was mainly built from field stones. As is usual for buildings of the early phase, these were relatively carefully hewn and layered in layers. The apse is semicircular and originally had three small windows. The two openings facing north and south are enlarged in the Baroque style and framed with reddish bricks. The middle window was blocked, leaving the wedges in the masonry. Above, at the transition to the eaves, large repair work with reddish brick can be seen. The apse has a simple conical roof .

The rectangular choir is slightly drawn in opposite the nave. While the east wall is closed, are located on the north side two large arched windows plastered with a robe . No statement can be made about the original shape of the wall on the south side without further investigations. There is a two-story , rectangular extension there. On the lower floor there is a rectangular door, next to each side a tall rectangular window. On the upper floor there are three equally large, rectangular windows. The southern side of the facade is plastered.

The nave also has a rectangular floor plan and is comparatively short. On the north side there are also two large arched windows, the edging of which was built with reddish brick. There are two more windows of this type on the south side. There could have been three windows here at an earlier time: to the west of the window to the west is a window clogged with wall splinters and broken bricks. Another window could have been to the right of it. Below is a priest's gate, which was also clogged with fragments of a wall and broken bricks . At the level of the fighter is a carved stone with a Jerusalem cross on the right side .

The western wall is largely closed. There is a small, rectangular gate on the ground floor. Above it is a circular opening slightly off-center to the south. A rectangular tower dome rises above it from the gable roof . It has a pointed arch- shaped sound arcade on the north, south and east sides . Above it is a pyramid roof with a tower ball and weather vane .

Furnishing

altar

The altarpiece was created at the beginning of the 18th century and consists of two twisted columns that are decorated with vine leaves and tendrils. The sides are adorned with acanthus . The predella shows the Lord's Supper and the oval altarpiece shows the crucifixion of Jesus . There is a cross above the columns as well as in the altar extension . It was restored between 1992 and 1994. A wooden pulpit from the second quarter of the 17th century stands between the apse and the choir. The pulpit is decorated with twisted columns; in between are pictures of the evangelists .

On the choir and apse wall are a total of seven epitaphs from the 17th and 18th centuries. A memorial plaque and a memorial book commemorate the fallen from World War II ; two murals to the fallen from the Wars of Liberation . There is also a horseshoe gallery in the building .

The inside of the structure is flat covered. The triumphal arch and the apse arch are round.

Two medieval bells hang in the tower as well as another bell that Sebastian Preger from Frankfurt (Oder) cast in 1598.
