The Protestant village church of Zielow is a church building in Zielow , a district of the municipality of Südmüritz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

history

The village of Zielow was mentioned for the first time in 1237 when the boundaries of the Dobbertiner monastery area were determined and recorded, in the country of Robele in the village of Silowe six Hufen . The Dobbertin monastery had income from six hooves here . These remain in the possession of the Dobbertiner nunnery until 1274, after which Zielow was exchanged for the village of Grobe with its field sheaths in the country of Malchin . Two years earlier, the nunnery in Röbel received two hooves in Zielow. Five years after the monastery moved to Malchow , another two Hufen were added in 1303.

The village church of Zielow was rebuilt in 1833. The small half-timbered building with a retracted western roof turret has a half-timbered hall with a flat wooden beam ceiling . The windows are divided into eight parts by bars. It was consecrated in November 1834.

In 1977 the church was very dilapidated, the roof was not re-covered until 1981 and further maintenance measures were carried out from 1983 to 1985. In 1985 it was again usable for church services.
