Dorothee Vorbeck (born April 13, 1936 in Gerolstein ; † August 10, 2020 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Dorothee Vorbeck put 1955 the Abitur in Dusseldorf and studied in Göttingen , Freiburg and Frankfurt on teaching . In 1962 she passed the first state examination in Frankfurt am Main and, after her legal clerkship, passed the second state examination for teaching at secondary schools. From 1964 to 1970 she worked as a teacher at the Klingerschule (vocational school, higher commercial school, business school) and at the advanced school of the commercial vocational schools in Frankfurt am Main. From 1979 to 1984 she was the head of the evening grammar school for professionals in the city of Frankfurt am Main .

politics

Dorothee Vorbeck was the chairwoman of the Frankfurt Young Socialists from 1969 to 1971. In the SPD she was a member of the executive committee of the Frankfurt SPD from 1969 to 1981, of which 1973 to 1975 deputy chairwoman and deputy federal chairwoman of the Social Democratic Women. From 1974 to 1975 she was a member of the Hesse South District Committee and the State Committee of Hesse of the SPD as well as the party council of the Federal Executive Committee of the SPD. She was a member of the Fundamental Values ​​Commission of the SPD party executive and was involved in drafting the paper The Dispute of Ideologies and Common Security .

Between 1981 and August 20, 1984 she was an honorary councilor in Frankfurt am Main. From December 1, 1970 to November 30, 1978 she was a member of the Hessian state parliament. From July 1984 and 1987 she was State Secretary at the Hessian Minister of Education in the Börner III cabinet .

Vorbeck died on August 10, 2020.
