Douglas Martin (* 13. January 1989 in Oakland , California ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running back . He currently plays for the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Martin attended Boise State University from 2007 to 2011 . In total, he ran 3,431 yards and 43 touchdowns in 617 runs.

In college, his teammates named him Muscle Hamster because of his looks . Martin doesn't like this nickname anymore and doesn't really want to be called that.

Rookie season (2012)

Martin was selected 31st in the 1st round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

He was able to convince immediately in his rookie season, managed 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns and was elected to the Pro Bowl right after his first NFL season . He was also nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Year Award .

2013

In the 2013 season , Martin injured very early in the shoulder, was on November 8, 2013 Injured Reserve List set and missed the rest of the season.

2014

The 2014 season was also not an easy one for Martin personally. He couldn't build on his rookie season and only managed 494 yards and 2 touchdowns in 134 runs. With a knee injury and a sprained ankle, he missed a few game days of the season.

2015

In the 2015 season , Martin was able to build on his good performances from the rookie season. He scored 1,402 yards in 288 runs and managed 6 touchdowns. Due to his good performance, he was elected to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team for the second time in his NFL career.

2016

Before the start of the 2016 season , Martin signed a five-year deal with the Buccaneers, earning him $ 35.75 million. At the end of the season, he received a four-game suspension because he was proven to have used the doping agent Adderall . The suspension began with the last game of the 2016 regular season .

2017

The remaining three games of his suspension from the 2016 season fell on the first three game days of the 2017 regular season , which is why he started the season on the suspended list. After the 2017 season, Martin was released into the Free Agency by the Buccaneers .

2018

On March 15, 2018, Martin signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Raiders .
