Drei gegen Troja is a German feature film from 2005. The road movie was produced on behalf of ZDF by the Berlin-based subsidiary of the Swiss Condor Films . The first performance took place on July 22, 2005.

action

Drei gegen Troja tells the story of three friends who, despite different origins and other contradictions, run a small car repair shop in Berlin-Kreuzberg without much success. When they get an offer from a dubious figure to transfer American classic cars from Istanbul to Berlin, they don't hesitate long. But not only the return journey from Istanbul to Germany brings with it some surprises. Even the first old-timer turns out to be a Trojan horse, because kilos of illegal substances are hidden under the beautifully polished car paint.

Production notes

Three against Troy was filmed on original locations in Istanbul, Kapadocia , Troy , at Tuz Gölü , a salt lake near Ankara , and in Berlin . The five-week filming was overshadowed by a salmonella disease of the crew members shortly after the filming started in Capadocia. After the director became seriously ill with a viral infection in the third week and had to be hospitalized in Ankara, shooting was interrupted for a few weeks. After the recovery of those involved, the chase on the dried salt lake could not be re-shot due to weather reasons, so that the production had to move to Matmâta in Tunisia with huge logistical effort for the realization of this sequence together with the original vintage cars . Matmâta became famous as the location for the Star Wars trilogy and the production couldn’t help but swivel to the still existing original sets in a short sequence in the background.

criticism

"Road movie told with a lot of absurd humor, which deals in an unusual way with the topic of" multiculturalism "and cleverly plays with clichés in its main character trio."
