Hussi Kutlucan

Hussein "Hussi" Kutlucan (born September 26, 1962 in Kemah , Turkey ) is a German filmmaker , actor and former punk rocker .

Life

In 1971 Kutlucan came to Berlin with his parents from Turkey. Here he first learned the profession of electrical installer. The filmmaker lives mainly in Germany to this day.

In the early 1980s he was a member of the Berlin punk band Soilent Grün (vocals and bass), which is considered the predecessor band of the Doctors , alongside Bela B. Felsenheimer , Roman Stoyloff and Bernd van Huizen . In 1982 Kutlucan saw his future more on the stage and decided against a further career in punk rock.

Kutlucan took private acting lessons from Theresa Nawrot and Richard Czayer in his hometown and made his acting debut in 1986 at the Raster Theater in Berlin with the play A nuclear tragedy . Further theater engagements such as in the play Die Pest from the experimental stage Theater 100 Fleck or in The Sensuous Cadaver by the Berlin Playactors, but also first roles in film followed.

In 1991, Kutlucan was in the feature film Summer in Mezra , a tragic comedy, then for the first time actor, screenwriter and director in one person. For his asylum seeker comedy ' Ich Chef, Du Turnschuh' (1998), Kutlucan received the Adolf Grimme Prize. His third author's film Three Against Troy (2005) also deals with the topic of immigration.

In addition to his work as a film writer and director, Kutlucan was in numerous roles as an actor in film and television. It can be seen in well-known films such as Lars Becker's Kanak Attack (2000) and several Tatort episodes. From November 16, 2009 to September 17, 2010 he could be seen in the Sat1 daily soap “ Eine wie keine ” as Süleyman Üzüm .
