The Dreiländereck (also: Ofen ; Slovene Peč ; Italian Monte Forno ) is a mountain in the Karawanken , on which the tri-border region of Austria , Slovenia and Italy lies, thus connecting the areas of the three languages ​​German, Italian and Slovenian. Name and languages

The German word furnace and the Slovenian word peč , German borrowed from Pötsche , are both called 'rock' or 'cave' with a corresponding range of meanings. The Italian name is the corresponding translation ( forno 'oven'). Dreiländereck is a more modern creation.

Development
