All tracks on the EP are demo recordings that were recorded in the Courtyard Studio in Oxon, the band called themselves On a Friday at the time of recording . The name was changed to Radiohead a month later .
Thinking About You was taken directly from Manic Hedgehog , while You was re-included. Thinking About You , You and Prove Yourself were recorded again for Pablo Honey .
Prove Yourself is known for its U2- like chord changes and unvarnished, emotional singing, while Stupid Car is a slow, almost ballad-like song that, much like Killer Cars , deals with Thom Yorke's suspicions about cars. Yorke's distrust of these was sparked by a car accident in which he and his girlfriend were involved.
Prove Yourself was played by Gary Davies on BBC Radio 1 after receiving a copy of the EP. This was the first time a Radiohead song was played on national radio.
At Sputnikmusic , Drill received an average rating of 2.8 out of five points, while critic Mike Stagno awarded 3.5 points.
