Amnesiac is the fifth album by the British band Radiohead and was released on June 5, 2001. All songs were written by Radiohead and produced with Nigel Godrich .

It is often compared to Kid A , released in 2000 , as the tracks on the two albums originated in the same sessions. The recorded pieces were divided between the two largely different albums, as each compilation should sound coherent in itself. In an interview, Thom Yorke compared Kid A to looking at a fire from a great distance, whereas with Amnesiac you are inside the fire.

Stanley Donwood and "Tchocky" (a pseudonym of Thom Yorke) received a Grammy for the artwork on the CD . Each page in the booklet consists of a collage of different papers, samples, photos, scribbles, text fragments and drawings of (mostly crying) animals that are modeled on a Minotaur . Two special editions of the CD were on the market, both in the form of a bound book, but each with a different cover.
