Duncan Theodore Tsoke

Duncan Theodore Tsoke (born April 15, 1964 in Daveyton , South Africa ) is a South African clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Johannesburg .

Life

Duncan Theodore Tsoke studied philosophy at the Seminary of Hammanskraal in Pretoria and Catholic theology at the National Seminary of St. John Maria Vianney . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Johannesburg on December 2, 1995 .

In addition to various tasks in parish pastoral care, he was active as a diocesan youth pastor until 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was a lecturer in spirituality at the seminary and then until 2009 episcopal vicar for evangelism and at the same time active in vocational pastoral care. Since 2009 he has been Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg. After further studies, he obtained a degree in ecclesiastical asset management in Nairobi in 2010 .

On 6 February 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Horrea Coelia and auxiliary bishop in Johannesburg. He was ordained bishop on April 30th of the same year by the Archbishop of Johannesburg, Buti Joseph Tlhagale OMI . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Port Elizabeth , Vincent Mduduzi Zungu OFM , and the Bishop of Gaborone , Valentine Tsamma Seane .
