Tero Mäntylä (born April 18, 1991 in Seinäjoki ) is a Finnish football player . He has been under contract with FC Inter Turku since 2017 .
Career
societies
Tero Mäntylä started his career with SJK Seinäjoki in his hometown, in the west of Finland. At SJK he made his debut in the men's area of the club at the age of 15, which at that time was still playing as TP-Seinäjoki in the Kakkonen . After playing 24 games in the third division in Finland, the 16-year-old moved to England for Portsmouth FC in February 2008 . He did not play a competitive game at the Pompeys , so he left the club in August 2010 for Inter Turku . In the remainder of the 2010 season , he completed nine games in the Veikkausliiga . In the following season 2011 he was runner-up with the club behind HJK Helsinki . Mäntylä came on 23 missions. After a total of 33 league games, the central defender moved to Bulgaria to Ludogorez Razgrad at the end of the 2011 season . Despite the role of the supplementary player of the central defender in the league behind Alexandre Barthe , Cosmin Moți , Ľubomír Guldan and Guilherme Choco , he was a regular in the European Cup. During his time in Razgrad he celebrated three championships in a row, as well as two cup and Supercup victories. In the summer of 2014 Mäntylä moved to Norway to Aalesunds FK and returned to his former club FC Inter Turku in August 2017 .
National team
Tero Mäntylä played for the Finnish U-21s at the beginning of his national team career . In May 2014 he made his debut in the Finnish senior team against the Czech Republic . Alongside Tapio Heikkilä and Tim Väyrynen, he was one of three players who made their international debut. He played another game under national coach Mixu Paatelainen against Lithuania at the Baltic Cup 2014 .
