Dysmorphic is a French technical death metal band from Tours , which was founded in 2008 under the name Necroticism .

history

The band was founded in February 2008 under the name Necroticism and consisted of drummer Quentin Regnault, bassist Théo Ladouce, guitarists Eric "Ricko" Haure-Touzet and Clément and singer Thibaud Destouches. A month later, Clément left the band again and was replaced by Julio Martinez. In mid-June 2008 the band recorded their first song called Kolossal Slaughter in the house of guitarist Martinez, where he played the guitar, drums and vocals. After two weeks of work, the song was released via Myspace . Towards the end of the year the band recorded their first EP called Orphans of Sheol at Tempo Loco Studio . In February 2009 the band played with a local band called Necrofist von Orléans , but also played with international artists such as Hate , Gorod and Kronos . In March the band played with The Psychologist & His Medicine Band. In September Destouches left the band and was replaced by Thibault "Trauma" Brunelière in October, the band now calling themselves Dysmorphic. A self-titled EP followed in 2010. Then Johann Sadok joined the band as the new bass player and Baptiste Boudoux as the new singer. In 2012 the band went into the studio to record their debut album, which was released in late 2013 under the name A Notion of Causality via Unique Leader Records .

On their Facebook page, the band lists groups like Suffocation , Severed Savior , Decrepit Birth , Odious Mortem , Morbid Angel , Kronos and Death as their influences. According to Islander from nocleansinging.com, the band play technical death metal comparable to the music of Gorod, although the works are even more technically demanding. In addition, the band sounds like a French version of Archspire . The guttural chant moves from the middle to the higher range. Occasionally, however, the vocals lapse into deeper passages, so that it is comparable to the vocals of Job for a Cowboy . Playing the electric guitar is reminiscent of groups like Suffocation and Beyond Creation .
