The 2017/18 season of the Erste Bank Young Stars League (EBYSL for short) was the sixth staging of the highest junior league in Austrian ice hockey, which also - as the junior league of the supranational Erste Bank ice hockey league - includes teams from Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary. The season started on September 3rd and ended with the 5th final game between AV19 Fehérvár and HD Jesenice with the victory of the Hungarians on April 8th 2018. Since there was no Austrian club in the EBYSL final, the Austrian champions were played in a best-of-three series between VSV and RB Salzburg. The series and with it the Austrian championship title won the Villach.
Participating teams
The league consists of 17 teams this season. In addition to the Erste Bank Junior League (EBJL for short), the following teams now also make teams in the EBYSL: Györi Nemak ETO HC and ÚTE Budapest.
The team of HK Olimpija Ljubljana, which switched to the Alps Hockey League , is to be reported as a departure . The teams of KHL Medvescak Zagreb and HK Triglav Kranj are also no longer there.
