The European Union Military Advisory Mission in the Central African Republic (EUMAM RCA) was a military advisory mission of the European Union within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) in the Central African Republic .

 It started in March 2015 and ended in July 2016 when it was replaced by the EU mission EUTM RCA .

mandate

On March 16, 2015, the EU launched the military advisory mission EUMAM RCA as the successor to the EU mission EUFOR RCA . The aim of the mission was to support the government of the Central African Republic in reforming its armed forces towards a professional, democratically controlled and ethnically diversified army. In doing so, she worked closely with the local UN peace mission MINUSCA . However, there was no combat mission.

structure

The headquarters were in Bangui , the capital of the Central African Republic. The head of the mission was the French Brigadier General Dominique Laugel, who commanded around 70 military personnel. 

The costs amounted to approx. 7.9 million euros.
