East Atlantic Beach is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County , New York , United States . At the time of the United States Census 2010 , there were 2049 residents here. The hamlet belongs to the Town of Hempstead , which is one of the three towns in Nassau County.

East Atlantic Beach's geographic coordinates are 40 ° 35 ′ N , 73 ° 42 ′ W (40.588004, −73.705925). The place is one of six places on Long Beach Barrier Island , a barrier island off the south side of Long Island , between the Atlantic Ocean in the south and Reynolds Channel on in the north. Adjacent to the west is Atlantic Beach and to the east is Long Beach .
According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 1.8 km 2 , of which 0.78 km 2 is land and 1 km 2 (= 55.88%) is water.
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, East Atlantic Beach was inhabited by 2,257 people. The population density was 2904.8 people per km ². There were 965 housing units at an average of 1242.0 per km ². The East Atlantic Beach population was 97.25% White , 0.31% Black or African American , 0.13% Native American , 0.89% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0.66% of other races belong to and 0.75% named two or more races. 3.54% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of East Atlantic Beach were distributed in 887 households out of which 28.7% were living in children under 18 years of age. 53.2% of households were married, 9.1% had a female head of household without a husband and 33.8% were not families. 24.7% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 6.5% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.07.

Parks
The Town of Hempstead controls two playgrounds and the beach park, which stretches along the entire length of the town and is monitored by lifeguards during the summer. The beach is private and only the residents of the village receive season passes for access.
