East Lothian is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South of Scotland , which was redesigned and renamed South Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . Here, small changes were made on the northwest border of the constituency East Lothian, the city Musselburgh completely to the neighboring constituency of Midlothian North and Musselburgh fell. The constituency includes areas of the East Lothian Council Area and sends one MP.
The constituency covers an area of 657.9 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 74,719 people lived within its borders.
