Eberhard Dietzsch

Eberhard Dietzsch (born January 3, 1938 in Reichenbach im Vogtland , † January 3, 2006 in Gera ) was a German painter , graphic artist and cartoonist of the 20th century.

Life

Dietzsch grew up as an only child in Reichenbach in Vogtland . His father was a dyer in therichbacher textile industry, his mother a housewife. From 1952 to 1955 he trained as a lithographer in a large printing company, from 1955 to 1958 he studied at the technical school for applied arts in Leipzig with Karl Miersch and Hajo Rose . In 1958 he moved to Gera, where he at DEWAG working as a commercial artist recorded, in 1959 he resigned and was now working as a freelance graphic designer and artist. From 1971 to 1973 Dietzsch was a master student of Klaus Wittkugel at the Berlin Academy of the Arts . He was also a freelancer for a bank.

A prize named after him has been awarded in Gera since 2008 .
