Eberhard Lilienthal

Eberhard Lilienthal (born June 19, 1923 in Allenstein in Warmia ; † July 30, 2013 in Leutersberg near Schallstadt ) was a German architect , town planner and municipal building officer who worked as an alderman for the city of Neuss .

Life

Eberhard Lilienthal came as the son of the married couple Hugo Lilienthal and Brigitte Lilienthal geb. Peters to the world. He spent his childhood and youth in Allenstein. After the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD), military service and captivity , he came to North Rhine-Westphalia and began studying architecture at the Technical University of Aachen in 1946 . During his studies he was a member of the student association KDStV Baltia (Danzig) . Lilienthal completed her studies with the academic degree of a qualified engineer .

In 1957 he entered the service of the city of Neuss, where he was initially head of the building construction department and then promoted to senior construction director . He then headed the planning department of the city of Neuss for 13 years until his retirement in 1998 .

He was involved for years in Neuss in the civil society , in the Rotary Club and was its president in 1976/77. He was a long-time member of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning (DASL), regional group NRW, and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
