Eberhard Johannes Ambrosius Wagner (born July 18, 1961 in Amstetten , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian actor and writer.

Life

Wagner was born the eleventh of twelve children to his parents Maria and Josef Wagner. Its roots are here in the Lower Silesian county of Glatz , there in the Austrian "Urort" Neuhofen an der Ybbs . Already in childhood he had a life in which he could “sit and write” - in addition to his acting from an early age. After several years of study and a life as a copywriter, construction worker, building contractor, industrial manager, advisor for church adult education, editor and interior designer, Wagner has been living as a freelance writer, cabaret artist and actor since 1997, with longer working stays in  Berlin , Salzburg , since 2001 in Vienna and since 2007 increasingly in Hungary .

While he sees his main task in writing novels, to which everything else can only contribute because only poetry is universal, from 2002 onwards he mainly worked on plays, cabarets, songs and scripts as well as essays. In addition, he acts as an actor in theater (including The robbers , (K) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , Twelfth Night . Black Comedy , or even as Berlin ends Giesecke in The White Horse Inn , but increasingly in separate pieces as in the of Cabaret tragedies developed for him Mann (43) sucht Frau ! , Two Souls - One / No World ), Nobody listens to Harvey , Paradas , and film (including dictators kiss better - special award for best actor at the Upper Austria film festival ) 2007, Dad's Dead , SOKO Donau (2 episodes), Kupetzky , Bockerer IV , Pepperminta ( Pipilotti Rist ) 2009, Grimm's Snow White 2012, or CopStories 2013), as well as singer and speaker. Since 2007 Wagner has largely withdrawn to work on further prose works. Because, as he says, "you only ever work on a single work. Art branches and categories are only partial battles in purgatory there, works are always only greeting cards from the road." Nevertheless, interim publications, u. a. in Driesch - magazine for literature & culture and above all in the blog "ambrosius.konnotationen", managed since 2007. He is (was) heard as a speaker in numerous advertisements and off-texts. Of course, it achieved its greatest popularity in Austria to date with the portrayal of "Bauchi" in the BAWAG PSK advertising campaign that ran on television, print and posters from 2011 to 2018
