Ebert Wolf the Elder
Ebert Wolf the Elder (also: Eberhard Wolf, Eckbert Wulf, Wulff and other name variants * to 1535/1540 in Hildesheim , † 1606 / 1607 ) was a German sculptor . He mainly created tombs in numerous places in Lower Saxony .
life and work
Wolf is the father of three sons, Ebert Wolf the Younger , Hans Wolf and Jonas Wolf , who also worked as sculptors. He was in the womb registers of Hildesheim was first mentioned in the 1568th In 1579 he worked at the local council pharmacy .
After Wolf had settled with his sons in Bückeburg in 1603 , he created the (not preserved) fountain in front of Bückeburg Castle in 1604 and also worked for the Bückeburg city church .
Wolf also left tombs in Einbeck , Braunschweig , Harbke , Loccum and Suderode .
