Ebert Wolf the Younger (* around 1560 in Hildesheim ; † 1608/ 1609 ) was a German sculptor of the Renaissance .

life and work

Wolf the Younger was the son of the sculptor Ebert Wolf the Elder and the brother of Jonas Wolf and Hans Wolf .

He was mentioned for the first time in the lap registers of Hildesheim in 1591 , where he initially created numerous gravestones under his father's monogram EBW as an employee of his father , of which he designed the younger ones alone.

In 1603 he went with his father and his brothers to Bückeburg to work for Count Ernst III. to step to Schaumburg .

The works of Wolf include

  • for the chapel of Bückeburg Castle
    • an altar table
    • and - together with his brother Jonas - three pulpit reliefs for the chapel,
    • and, also with Jonas, the wooden decorations under the ribbed vault , as well
  • the grand door of the Golden Hall in Bückeburg Castle.
