Ebrahim Remaid al-Zofairi (born May 18, 1989 ) is a Kuwaiti sprinter and middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters .

Athletic career

Ebrahim al-Zofairi gained his first experience at international championships at the 2013 Arab Championships in Doha , where he finished fifth over 800 meters. He then took part in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang , but was eliminated there in the preliminary round. In 2014 he won the silver medal behind the Katari Musaeb Abdulrahman Balla at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou . In 2015 he took part in the Asian Championships in Wuhan , but did not reach the final there. Two years later he took part again in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and celebrated his greatest success so far by winning the gold medal in 1: 49.97 min. He also received a bye for the World Championships in London , where he reached the semi-finals over 800 meters with a new personal best and was eliminated there with 1: 46.68 min. In addition, at the Arab Championships in Radès , he finished fifth over 800 meters in 1: 48.10 minutes. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where he won the bronze medal over 800 meters in 1: 52.97 min behind Katari Abubaker Haydar Abdalla and Pejman Yarvali from Iran and finished fourth in 3: 14.75 min with the Kuwaiti 4th -time-400-meter relay.

At the Asian Championships in Doha in 2019 , al-Zofairi was unable to defend his title and finished second behind Abubaker Haydar Abdalla from Qatar in 1: 46.88 minutes. He was also unable to finish the 1500 meter advance.

In 2014 and 2015 as well as in 2016 and 2019, al-Zofairi was Kuwaiti champion in the 800-meter run and in 2016 and 2019 also over 1500 meters.
