Eckhard Wirbelauer

Eckhard Wirbelauer (born December 24, 1962 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German ancient historian .

Eckhard Wirbelauer studied Ancient History, Latin Philology and Middle Latin Philology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1992 he received his doctorate in Freiburg with Hans-Joachim Gehrke with the dissertation The Disputes about the Roman Episcopate in Late Antiquity . Since 1991 he has been working as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg, since 1992 as a research assistant to Jochen Martin . In 1998 he became with the font Kephallenia and Ithaca. Habilitation in historical-geographical and source-critical studies on two islands in the Ionian Sea . Then he was a private lecturer and university lecturer in Freiburg .
