Edgar Walth (born June 15, 1991 in Carmanova , Moldova ) is a German professional super featherweight boxer .

Amateur career

Edgar Walth played 208 amateur fights. He is the German bantamweight champion in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, and runner-up in 2009 and 2010. In 2011 he was third. He also boxed for BC Straubing in the 1st Bundesliga, 2011/12 for the Leipzig Leopards and 2013/14 for Team Germany in the World Series of Boxing , where he won victories against Alexander Riscan and Shiva Thapa .

At the 2011 European Championships in Turkey , he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Veaceslav Gojan , but won the European Military Championships in Estonia in 2012 with a final victory against Julião Neto . At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty, he lost in the preliminary round to Zhang Jiawei .

In the World Olympic Qualifier 2016, to qualify for the Olympic Games 2016 , he defeated Ayabonga Sonjica , Hesham Abdelaal and Stefan Iwanow, but lost in the quarter-finals to Arashi Morisaka and could not qualify.

Professional career

Walth is under contract with Petkos Boxpromotion from Munich and won his professional debut on October 14, 2017 in Unterschleißheim . In his seventh fight on April 6, 2019, he won the international German super featherweight championship.

On December 21, 2019 he lost through TKO in the seventh round against the Ukrainian Wladyslav Melnyk.
