Alexander Riscan , also Alexandr Riscan (born August 5, 1989 ) is a Moldovan boxer

Career

The 1.63 m tall southpaw studied economics and law in Tiraspol .

National

Alexander Riscan was 2007 Moldovan junior champion and also champion in the adult light flyweight division. From 2008 to 2016 he was Moldovan flyweight champion nine times in a row.

Europe

In 2004 he won the European Schoolchildren Championships in Hungary (up to 43 kg) and reached the quarter-finals at the European Cadet Championships in Russia . In 2005 he won the silver medal at the European Cadet Championships in Hungary (up to 46 kg) and in 2007 a bronze medal in the light flyweight division at the European Junior Championships in Serbia .

At the European Championships in England in 2008 and the European Championships in Turkey in 2011 , he each won a bronze medal in the flyweight division, after being eliminated in the semifinals against Salomo N'tuve and Andrew Selby . In 2010 he lost to Vincenzo Picardi in the round of 16 in Russia , and in Belarus in 2013 to Sergei Loban in the round of 16.

In 2014 he won the EU flyweight championships in Bulgaria by beating Jack Bateson , Kelvin de la Nieve and Elie Konki . At the 2015 European Championships in Bulgaria and the 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan , he lost in the first fight against Muhammad Ali .

International

Alexander Riscan was the last sixteen of the 2006 Cadet World Championships in Turkey and bronze medalist at the 2008 University World Championships in Russia (flyweight). In the European Olympic qualification in Italy and Greece in 2008 , he lost to Paul Butler and Veli Moomin.

At the 2009 World Championships in Italy he was eliminated in the first fight against Yampier Hernández and at the 2010 University World Championships in Mongolia in the quarter-finals against Njambajaryn Tögstsogt . At the 2011 World Championships in Azerbaijan he lost to Michael Conlan and at the 2013 World Championships in Kazakhstan in the second fight against Asat Usenalijew. In the European Olympic qualification 2012 in Turkey he failed in the round of 16 against Nordine Oubaali .

At the Summer Universiade 2013 in Russia, he was only eliminated in the semifinals against Mikhail Alojan and thus won a bronze medal in the flyweight division. In 2016 he was eliminated from the European Olympic qualification in Turkey in the round of 16 against Daniel Asenow . In the global qualification in Azerbaijan, he lost in the second preliminary round to Elie Konki .

World Series of Boxing

Riscan boxed for the Ukraine Otamans and Paris United teams in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) from 2011 to 2013 .
