Edouard Bizimana (born February 10, 1968 in Burundi ) is a Burundian diplomat . He was the Burundian ambassador to Germany from 2012 to 2016 . He is the current Burundian ambassador to Russia .

Life

Edouard Bizimana graduated from the Rusengo Lyceum in the Burundian province of Ruyigi in 1990 . At the University of Burundi in Bujumbura he studied from 1990 to 1993 at the Faculty of Language and English Literature. He studied at the University of Yaoundé I in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé from 1996 to 1998 and obtained a bachelor's degree in Modern English Letters . He received a diploma ( DESS ) in international relations in 2000 at the Institute des Relations Internationales du Cameroun (IRIC) at the University of Yaoundé II . There he received his doctorate in 2003 on the subject of “ Armed Conflicts and Environmental Protection in the Great Lakes Region ”. During his studies he did internships at the Cameroonian Foreign Ministry, the Cameroonian Athletics Association and the Institute for Diplomatic Studies in Cairo .

Edouard Bizimana is married and has four children.

Diplomatic career

Since 2004 Edouard Bizimana worked for the Burundian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, first as a consultant to the President for cooperation with Europe, North America and non-governmental organizations , from 2006 he was Deputy Chief of Protocol in the Department of second vice-president Marina Barampana and 2007-2010 First Counselor at the Burundian embassy in Washington, DC In the Burundian Ministry of External Relations and International Cooperation, he was responsible for international and regional organizations since February 2010. A short time later he became a Ministerial Councilor in the Burundian Permanent Forum for Political Parties.

On June 22, 2012 Edouard Bizimana was appointed ambassador in Berlin . He was also accredited for Austria , the Vatican , the Czech Republic , Slovakia and the United Nations organizations in Vienna . He held the office until 2016. His successor in Germany is Else Nizigama Ntamagiro . He is the current Burundian ambassador to Moscow .
