Edsbyn is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Gävleborgs län and the historic province of Hälsingland . It is located 30 kilometers west of Bollnäs on the Voxnan River and is the main town in Ovanåker municipality . Edsbyn is an industrial town with a focus on the furniture industry.
The local bandy team , Edsbyns IF , has been playing in the highest Swedish class Bandyallsvenskan for 60 years and has won the national championship title seven times. The game developer Markus Persson , who became famous for the popular video game Minecraft , spent his childhood in Edsbyn.
