Eduard Engelhorn

Eduard Engelhorn (born June 1, 1830 in Mannheim , † February 6, 1907 in Heidelberg ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Eduard Engelhorn was the son of a Heidelberg farmer and postman. After attending high school he studied from 1847 to 1850 law at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin . In 1848 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he became a legal intern in 1852 and a trainee lawyer in 1855. In 1861 he was promoted to bailiff and second official at the Waldshut district office . In 1864 he was appointed head of the Triberg district office . The following year he was promoted to senior bailiff. In 1868 he moved to the district office of Mosbach and in 1872 to the district office of Rastatt . Appointed city director of Rastatt at the beginning of January 1874, in April of the same year he went to the Freiburg district office as a member of the administrative board , from where he moved to the Mannheim district office in the same function in 1877 and became court commissioner of the Mannheim court theater. In 1883 Engelhorn was appointed to the Baden Ministry of the Interior as a ministerial advisor and state commissioner for the Constance district commissioner. In 1898 he was appointed to the exploration commission as part of the continuation of the Höllentalbahn . In 1899 he was appointed director of the Baden Administrative Court in Karlsruhe and appointed chairman of the disciplinary court for non-judicial officials. Since his retirement in 1902 he lived in Heidelberg.
