Eduard Hinze
Eduard Hinze (born February 22, 1898 in Naumburg (Saale) , † November 8, 1986 in Bad Harzburg ) was a German medical officer .
Life
After 1915 the Real reform school in Frankfurt (Oder) stored High School Hinze fought as a gunner in the First World War . From the winter semester 1918/19 he studied at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Breslau medicine . He became active in the Corps Silesia . Since the Prussian minister of education had ordered an interim semester for those involved in the war in 1919 , Hinze was able to take the Physikum after only one year.
For the clinical part of his studies, he moved to the Albertus University in Königsberg , where he also joined the Corps Hansea Königsberg in 1920 . In Konigsberg he made in 1922 the state exam and received his doctorate in 1923 he to Dr. med. After a few months as a trainee doctor at the state women's clinic in Danzig , he joined the Reichswehr in 1923 . He came to Kassel , Kolberg (1930) and Schwedt / Oder (1933). From 1935 to 1939 he was an on-site doctor in Döberitz . During the 1936 Summer Olympics he was seconded to Berlin as head of the Olympic hospital.
With the beginning of the Second World War , Hinze was assigned to various units . In 1943 he was appointed as a senior physician in the 8th Army (Wehrmacht) and promoted to general physician in 1944 . After his release from American captivity in 1947, he settled as a country doctor in Havelse .
In 1950 he became a member of the Corps Albertina Hamburg.
His 1979 work on the history of military medicine is considered a standard work .
