Eduard Joseph Machaczek

Eduard Joseph Machaczek , also Macháček and Machatschek , (born December 31, 1815 in Böhmisch Zinnwald , † March 29, 1893 in Dresden ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and publicist.

Live and act

Eduard Joseph Machaczek was the son of a kk Austrian customs officer in Bohemian Zinnwald on the ridge of the Eastern Ore Mountains . After attending various schools and high schools in Reichenau, Jitschin, Schlan and Prague, Eduard Joseph Machaczek was accepted into the episcopal clerical seminary in Leitmeritz in 1835 , which he left in 1839 after being ordained a priest . As a chaplain, he got his first pastoral position in Hochpetsch near the city of Brüx (Most).

In 1844 Eduard Joseph Machaczek followed the call to the Catholic Church (old St. Johannes Nepomuk Church ) in the district town of Chemnitz in the Kingdom of Saxony . After a brief activity as pastor and administrator of the Catholic court church in Hubertusburg Castle in Wermsdorf from 1845, he returned to Chemnitz as a Catholic pastor. He spent his retirement in Dresden, where he lived at Sachsenplatz No. 3 and was buried in the Catholic cemetery after his death.
