The Theuerleinsmühle (also Hecknersmühle ) is a wasteland in the district of Röhrensee in Markt Geiselwind in Lower Franconia in the Kitzingen district .

Geographical location

The Theuerleinsmühle is located in the northwest of the Geiselwinder municipality on the Reiche Ebrach . To the north is the Geiselwinder district Röhrensee, on whose boundary the mill is located. The market area of Ebrach in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg begins to the south-east, and the district of Kleinbirkach is closest to Theuerleinsmühle. The grinding mill and the Schnackenmühle line up on the Reichen Ebrach to the southeast . In the west begins the area of the community Wiesentheid with the district Obersambach .

history

The name of the mill refers to the Theuerlein family who lived there at times. The mill was first mentioned in 1506 as the "Hecknersmühle". At that time, “1 morg bey der Heckners mül” appeared in the interest book of the Prince of Schwarzenberg . A long gap in tradition made the old name likely to be forgotten. Perhaps the facility was destroyed in the Thirty Years War because it was on an important military road .

It was not until 1750 that the mill appeared again in the sources. A baptismal entry of the parish Geiselwind names Johann Adam Deüerlein, "molitor [Müller] der Lohe Mühl bey Röhrensee". In the entries in the parish register in 1752 Johann Adam Theuerlein was mentioned again, before the younger Johann Adam was promoted to miller in 1754. In 1783 the miller was called Johann Konrad Valentin, before Matthias Enzenbrenner and then his son Johann Enzenbrenner ran the mill until 1810.

In 1860, the Theuerleinsmühle was rebuilt. The water supply for the mill wheel was ensured by two small water ponds, because there the inflow of the Ebrach and the Röhrenseebach was still very low. In addition, a sawmill was built next to the grain mill in 1900 . The miller Friedrich Theuerlein initially lived in the mill from 1860. The Meyer family then took over the facility and Georg senior, Georg junior and Manfred Meyer lived in the Theuerleinsmühle.

From 1936 the mill and the saw gate received a wood generator . The generator was replaced with an electric motor as early as 1939 . In 1951 the residential buildings of the mill were renewed, the west side was occupied by the mill, while the east part served as a residential building. In 1967 the flour mill ended. The last owner Manfred Meyer and his wife Lisa operated the saw until the first years of the 21st century.
