Holzberndorf is a district of the Geiselwind market in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

Holzberndorf is located in the east of the Geiselwinder municipality. To the north is Burggrub , in the northeast and east the area of the Bamberg district adjoins the village. Wasserberndorf extends in the south. To the west is the Geiselwind market, and Füttersee to the north-west. The Schrem desert is in the outskirts of Holzberndorf . From 1930 Vogelruh was a district of Holzberndorf.

The closest larger cities are Volkach , which is around 24 kilometers away, and Kitzingen , which is around 26 kilometers away.

history

Nothing is known exactly about the founding time of the place. Holzberndorf was first mentioned in 1265, the village was handed over to the Ebrach monastery . The late Middle Ages brought three royal free estates to the place. Holzberndorf has been part of the Geiselwind community since 1978.
