history

The mill was first mentioned in 1432. At that time, “Serheim die mule” had to pay interest to the parish of Geiselwind. In 1471 Sigmund von Crailsheim acquired some meadows under the "muln zu Sehramb" from Magdalena von Berg, widow of the Carthusian founder Balthasar Fere von Berg. The mill remained with the Lords of Vestenberg , Magdalena came from this family. In 1505 the Eucharius von Vestenberg left the “Muln zu Serheym” to his cousins.

The Counts of Castell were also wealthy about the mill. The counts often lent their possessions to different fiefdoms. In 1585, for example, some field fiefs and the “fish water at the Seramsmühl” were awarded. At that time, the miller Hans Öttinger was probably sitting on the mill as the existing miller. It is documented in 1587. The mill was part of the Zent Burghaslach in the 17th century . In the first half of the 17th century the village of Seeram disappeared and the mill remained.

After some efforts had been made in the second half of the 17th century to repopulate the village, two houses were built in the immediate vicinity of the mill. However, the reconstruction failed and in 1681 the Lords of Pölnitz and Aschbach were responsible for the mill . In 1833 the plant had a total of three grinding passages and one cutting passage. In 1846, Georg Friedrich Hahn was found to be a miller.
