Eduard Kubat

Eduard Kubat (born November 30, 1891 in Essen , Rhine Province ; † February 2, 1976 in Potsdam , Brandenburg ) was a German film producer and director .

Life

Eduard Kubat was originally an actor and made his debut as such in 1910 at the Württemberg Municipal Theater. Later he was on stage in Emden and Lübeck, among others .

In the early 1920s he started as a manager in the film, since the early 1930s, he held various functions ( production manager , line producer , executive producer , production team leader) in numerous productions in the era of National Socialism involved. He worked for UFA , Terra , Tobis and several smaller production companies.

In 1946 he entered the service of DEFA , for which he himself directed two films: The Call of the Sea (1951) and Jacket Like Pants (1953). In 1957 he retired.
