Eduard Süskind

Eduard Süskind (born August 17, 1807 in Stuttgart , † August 29, 1874 at Gut Rösselsberg on Lake Starnberg ) was a German pastor , farmer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of Friedrich Gottlieb Süskind , brother of Hermann Süskind and cousin of Otto Elben , Eduard Süskind studied as a donor from 1825 to 1830 after attending the royal high school in Stuttgart, the state examination in autumn 1821 and his time at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Blaubeuren in Tübingen Protestant theology . During his studies in 1825 he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity .

After his exam in 1830, the time that followed until 1831 as a parish assistant in Altenstadt and Eybach ( Geislingen an der Steige ), he was parish administrator in Marktlustenau until 1832 and, after his second theological exam, pastor there from 1832 to 1839. Afterwards he was pastor in Suppingen until 1849 . There he worked as a writer , among other things . In 1847 he founded the German Volksblatt from Swabia . He was also the founder of the Swabian People's Calendar . From 1848 to 1849 he was a member of the constitution-revising state assembly of the Württemberg state parliament and was a member of the state parliament from 1851 to 1855. In 1851 he was transferred to Calw , whereupon he resigned from church service and from 1852 worked as an economist in Weilerhöhe ( Oberamt Geislingen ). From 1860 he worked as an estate manager in Zandersdorf in the Konitz district in West Prussia , and from 1869 he was an estate owner in Rösselberg on Lake Starnberg.
