Eduard Walser

Eduard Walser (born October 15, 1863 in Chur ; † February 13, 1949 ibid), entitled to live in Seewis in Prättigau and Chur, was a Swiss politician (FDP) .

Life

Family and work

The reformed baptized Eduard Walser, son of farmer and Grisons Governing Eduard Walser senior, acquired the maturity of the district school Chur . He then turned to the study of law at the Universities of Leipzig , Munich , Tübingen , Bern , Lausanne and Siena to which he with the promotion of Dr. iur. completed. Eduard Walser, who subsequently worked as a lawyer in Chur since 1889 , advanced to become one of the most famous Graubünden lawyers at the turn of the century , with a spacious office at his disposal. He also appeared as a gymnast .

Eduard Walser's first marriage was to Johanna from Naples , daughter of the brewery owner Johann Jacob Hatz, and his second marriage to Lydia, daughter of the factory owner Otto Looser. He died in 1949 at the age of 86 in his hometown of Chur.

Political career

Eduard Walser, member of the Free Democratic Party, belonged to the board of the young radicals around Friedrich Manatschal around 1890. In the course of his political career he represented his party in the Small City Council of Chur (executive), from 1891 to 1917 in the Grisons Grand Council and from 1918 to 1926 in the Government Council. In the parliamentary elections in 1902 he succeeded in entering the National Council , to which he belonged until 1928.
