Edward Henryk Cyfus , also known as Wosz Klyjmens , (* 1949 in Dorotowo , Warmia ) is a Polish non-fiction author, Warmia local historian and publicist.

Live and act

Edward Cyfus spent his childhood and youth in Barczewo - after marriage the family lived there in a prefabricated housing estate (popularly: Zydlągi). Shortly before the declaration of martial law in December 1981 , he traveled with his family and parents from the People's Republic of Poland to Gernsheim (southern Hesse ). He lived and worked near Frankfurt am Main for about eleven years , traveled to the Third Polish Republic in 1992 and founded the Audio-Soft recording studio in Olsztyn . In the years 1998–2002 he carried out warmth stories and chats on the local radio in Olsztyn every week in the Warmia dialect as your Klemens (Wosz Klyjmens) .

Edwar Cyfus made his debut in 2000 with the book After Our Dialect. Warmia chats (. Po naszamu Gawędy Warmińskie) and in 2003 the first part of the autobiographical family saga appeared ... and life continues (... a życie toczy się dalej) - written by memories and recordings of his mother, who in spring 1945 by the NKVD was abducted to Ukraine (then to the Soviet Union) and only came back after more than twelve months. This was followed by other relevant books and newspaper articles about the Warmia dialect and the history of this region.

Since 2003 he has been employed as a consultant, then a specialist in cultural affairs, at the municipal administration in Purda . On his initiative, the “Bishop's Path ” was renewed in Bałdy in 2006 and in July 2010 the Grand Master and Abbot General of the Teutonic Order Bruno Platter traveled to Warmia and dedicated memorial stones for former bishops of Warmia .

He has received several awards for his cultural commitment and other services. In 2002, he became the master of Polish nominated in the region (Mistrz mowy Polskiej), in 2007 he was awarded for services to the culture, the statuette Warmia Queen " Łyna " (Statuetka Królewna Warmińska Łyna za zasługi dla kultury) and in 2010 the Honorary Badge for Services to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship (Odznaka honorowa za zasługi dla Województwa Warmińsko-Mazurskiego).
